MISSOURI CANDIDATE SURVEY -- PUBLISHED by FREEDOM OF ROAD RIDERS

SECTION 1. MANDATORY HELMET LAW

A. Would you support a repeal of Mo. helmet law? YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

Yes, I would support a repeal of Missouri helmet laws for persons under the age of 18.

B. Would you support a repeal for adults over 21? YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

Yes. See above answer.

SECTION 2. Some insurance companies and self insured companies are denying health care insurance to Motorcyclists and ATV riders.

A. Would you support legislation to make this type of discrimination illegal ?

YES NO SPONSOR GO-SPONSOR

No. Insurance companies have a right to assess and refuse risk as that is the foundations of their business.

SECTION 3. Motorcycles banned from public streets and parking lots?

A. Would you support legislation to stop this in Missouri?

YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

Yes. The owners of motorcycles have as much right to travel and park their property as other motor vehicle owners.

SECTION 4. Off road issues.

A. Would you support legislation to create a dedicated off-road trust fund to take advantage of federal funds? These funds are available for off-road motorcycling and ATV recreational parks. YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

No. There is a problem in that motorcycles and ATV vehicles do not pay enough in gasoline taxes to create a dedicated trust fund unless taxes on above vehicles are raised in order to provide for such a trust fund. I do not support the present practice of allowing politicians to loot the present highway trust fund to provide goodies to special interests such as mass-transit, more highway patrol officers, etc.

The present solution to the problem of state and federal lands being closed to off-road vehicular use is to allow some ATV and motorcycle use, as was done before the environmental special interests were allowed to take over park bureaucracies. In short, I am talking about wise use of public resources.

5. Are you in favor of pari-mutuel gambling in Missouri? YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

No, not really. However, if it has already been passed, I'll allow it. If not, I'll veto it. I will not abolish state-sponsored gambling where it already exists, nor will I encourage its expansion.

If people want to gamble, why should the State either lend sanction to it or get a cut?

6. Are you in favor of off-track gambling? YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

No, not really. However, if it has already been passed, I'll allow it. If not, I'll veto it. I will not abolish state-sponsored gambling where it already exists, nor will I encourage its expansion.

If people want to gamble, why should the State either lend sanction to it or get a cut?

7. Do you consider yourself to be pro-choice or pro-life. PRO-CHOICE PRO-LIFE

I am a pro-life Libertarian.

8. Would you be in the favor of tax credits for parents who home-school or send their children to private schools? YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

Yes, most definitely. I support such tax credits as an interim measure to abolish the government-run public school systems until a multitude of parental-choice private, religious, computer or Internet, or home schools are established.

Our society is being bankrupted and children are mentally damaged by the current government schools.

9. Do you support the recognition of homosexual marriage? YES NO SPONSOR CO-SPONSOR

No. Unlike the majority of my Libertarian colleagues, I do not support begging the government to recognize homosexual coupling as "marriage."

I would far prefer to get the government out of the marriage-license business and the claiming of the children issuing from that marriage. This is in my opinion a Libertarian position, as opposed to begging the government to grant social and moral equivalence for a special interest group despised by the majority of the population via force of law.

I would like to THANK YOU for filling out and then returning this form to.
